a bug in comment box

  hi again,
  i just found a comment bug at http://dubesor.wordpress.com/2007/06/06/where-to-submit-your-blog-or-rss-feed-for-free-seo-promotion/. as far as i know wp doesn’t publish the commenter’s name, email address etc, though they are required for admin. however if you scroll down to the comment box you will see that the commenter’s name and email address appears. aren’t they supposed to be blank by default?

  i am especially concerned bcos it is happening at my blog too:(

  please don’t post 3 threads about the same issue. you can post about your discovery in the original thread itself. it’s not polite and it gives more work to the voluntary moderators who have to delete the repeat threads.

  i click on the first link and do not see the emails. i click on a friend’s wp.com blog and i don’t see the emails too. maybe it’s a bug. you should report to feedback. go to dashboard, it’s at the top right corner.

  yeah i did!
  thanx for the tips! i got all carried away bcos i didn’t want people to have access to the name and email address of the commenter so easily (he commented on my blog and i owe him his privacy) and the pc is in a public place.

  i think it’s only you who’s having the bug, since i’ve tried and i can’t see anybody’s email. but there could be others out there like you.
