A bunch of newbie questions, please help!
-
Hi. I’m trying to create a website for an on-line comic. It’s not a webcomic in the sense of having regular updates: I’m going to dump a 20 pages story there and it’ll be awhile before new content will be added. So I downloaded Comicpress, but not sure it’s what I need as it seems to be aimed more at regularly updated webcomics.
So here are the first few things I’d like to tackle as I set my website via WordPress:
1) Get the blog out of the Home section. I want the blog to be the third of fourth option on the main bar, but home seems to be unmoveable as the first option and it happens to be the blog tab. I can add and remove any pages and re-order them as I like, except for home.
2) No comments on every page. Seems like people can comment on every single page. How do I toggle on and off the ability to comment?
3) A secondary menu bar. I want to have a secondary menu bar to read through the comics in the relevant part of the website (the usual, first, last, next page options). How do I apply it as a secondary template for relevant pages?
I hope my questions make sense. Making websites is HARD. ;-)
Thanks.

Hi. Just to be sure, are you referring to michaelblumental.wordpress.com? I’m asking because ComicPress appears to not be available to WordPress.COM users… and because that blog is empty. It has no “Blog” link on the menu.

Sorry, I was referring to fabtasticcomics.wordpress.com
I’m not really planning on using Comicpress as I’m not aiming to do a regularly updated webcomic.

1) under Settings->Reading, choose a static page as your Front Page
2) It’s a setting in the Edit box right under the Write box.
3 Not really an option as far as I’m aware, but there MAY be a way to hack the CSS with ninja CSS skills and the paid upgrade.
