a counter for posts

  is there such a thing as a counter that can be insurted into each post or each page to see the number of times it has been read

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi. Go to your dashboard, then to stats, and under “Top Posts & Pages”, click on the little icon to the right of the post or page title to see its individual number of visits per day.

  As far as something you can put into posts to show that information, there is nothing that will work here.
