A domain name question.

  I am not sure if this is a question that you guys can help me with or not but…

  Say I get a web host, Startlogic for example. I get a registered domain name (lets say animeloli.com) and web hosting and everything. Is it possible for me to have the blog be on the animeloli.com/blog url or does it have to be the actual animeloli.com?? This is probably a stupid question, but please help anyway.

  If you host your own site, then yes. But if you are going that route, you’re not going to get much help here because we are not self-hosted. Head over to http://wordpress.org/support/ if you intend to use the free WordPress software that you download and install at your host.

  Ok, but can I transfer from using wordpress.com to wordpress.org?

  You could export from WordPress.com by going to Manage->Export in the Dashboard and then you’d use that file to import on the self-hosted blog. You could redirect the WordPress.com blog to your domain by following http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/09/09/can-i-redirect-my-blog/

  I actually just found out that startlogic has wordpress.org built in, so I will have to do some screwing around with that.

  If I transfer my blog there, would this site still get it when i post?

  If you are posting to a self-hosted WordPress blog, the posts will not show up on a WordPress.com blog.
