  I have been in touch with the owner of the domain via email. She said she discontinued it to free it up for me to purchase, but it remains parked with WordPress. How to proceed, please! I would really like to resolve so I can get business cards ordered. Thanks

  @highcountryautumn Can you confirm that you are talking about highcountryautumn.com. That domain is registered at Godaddy and was mapped to a WordPress.com site.
