A "drafts" question I've not seen addressed anywhere else

Hi all — – I have a few posts saved on my dashboard as “drafts” with the intention of revisiting and publishing them at later dates. Today I did just that: reopened a draft, edited it, and hit “publish.” However, the post had the posting date as the date I first wrote it, not today’s date. It may just be coincidence, but I’ve not encountered this before. Is there a way to change the “effective date” for a draft when it gets published?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you save the draft just before you publish it the date will be changed to the current one. If you don’t save it the date will stay as the date it was last manually saved. :)

I think you nailed it. I suspect that’s just what I did, or failed to do. Thanks!
