A few basic questions for a 1 week old blooger

  1 I paid for the CSS upgrade and have been trying to center my main title. When I go to the edit page I cant seem to do anything. Even if I erase a huge portion of the css and click preview its still the unchanged blog. http://maliburealestate.wordpress.com/

  2 I’ve downloaded a free template that I like and want to know if I can stick it in my wordpress.com site. Or do I need to host it somewhere and use the wordpress.org route.

  (2) You cannot upload a free standing blog template from wordpress.org and “stick it into your wordpress.com site. The two run only different software. We cannot use uploaded themes ate wordpress.com

  If your longterm plan is to hire a web host and move to a wordpress.org template then you have wasted your money on a css custom upgrade. This is because a wordpress.org template can be hacked to suit free of charge.

  Thanks. That does help. I think I wasted 15 bucks. Looks like I need to go the .org route and learn some new tricks.

  If you’re editing CSS you can’t delete from the original stylesheet, you can only add things to override it. Make sure you’re putting your CSS into the right window (on the Edit CSS page) – not into the ‘View Stylesheet’ which is just the basic source code.
