A few complaints….
-
I have been podcasting for a while now, and recently took over a show for the MMO “Vanguard.” Although I will continue to host and use the “mother site” at http://www.virginworlds.com, I wanted to make a blog page like my wifes podcast which is at http://www.epicdolls.com.
The silly thing is, wordpress was described to me as having more features than anyone out there. The only thing I’m finding that blogspot does not have (for a basic, free blog site) is the ability to make a “read more” link. All I want to do is add a player to my page like my wife has and play the podcast there, or the listener can go ahead and go to virginworlds and listen there. But we need the blog page for articles and stuff.
If WordPress wants to provide a good blog space, wouldn’t it be better to allow other players? The one they have (odeo) is absolutely horrible. No matter what I do, I know that the site will not allow me to have a player besides Odeo, even for my podcast which I produce.
Another thing: on the widgets selection area, there are no descriptions for the widgets. While some might think that certain widgets are common knowledge, I can say that I honestly had to just google some of them to find out what the heck they were. Of course, I could simply be missing where the descriptions are. Stranger things have happened.
I just want basic things. I actually enjoy teaching myself basic code and learning new things, but I just want to have what my wife has. I told her I would try out WordPress so we could compare to blogspot. So far, blogspot seems to be coming out on top.
Anyway, sorry for the rant!Beau Turkey

Goodness, the comma and the period at the end of my web addresses messed em up. Take those off and voila! you’ll see what I am talking about.

No, WP.com isn’t for everyone. But neither is blogspot.
Happy blogging.
