A few questions about "Dyad" theme
-
Hi, I’ve started my blog using Pictorico but I’ve recently found “Dyad” and think it would be better suited.
A few queries please:
– Is it possible to embed social feed like facebook and instagram in the footer like I have on my current Pictorico theme?
– Would it be possible to have drop down menus for the sub categories of recipes (like I have in Pictorico)?
– I noticed when I test my current site in Dyad demo, those items disappear so I’m wondering if possible at all.
Thanks in advance, Eva.

Hi Eva,
See the Dyad theme guide, and the Dyad demo.
– Is it possible to embed social feed like facebook and instagram in the footer like I have on my current Pictorico theme?
Yes.
– Would it be possible to have drop down menus for the sub categories of recipes (like I have in Pictorico)?
Yes.
– I noticed when I test my current site in Dyad demo, those items disappear so I’m wondering if possible at all.
When switching to another theme, it’s typical for the widgets to be sent to the inactive widgets area. In the wp-admin Widgets page, you may simply move them (drag and drop) to the active widget areas. I was unable to find a corresponding page at the My Sites interface.
Custom menus may also have to be reassigned after switching to another theme.
The Switch Themes section of the Themes support page says:
When you change a theme, nearly everything comes with you. Your posts, pages, media, blogroll and all of your content stay with you. When you change to a new theme, there are a few things you’ll want to check afterward:
Custom Menus
You’ll want to reassign your Custom Menus to the locations you want them in the new theme. Each theme supports different locations, depending on the theme.Widgets
You’ll want to place your Widgets in the proper Widget locations. Like Custom Menus, each theme supports different locations, depending on the theme.>Custom CSS
The only thing that would not come with you is Custom CSS, because that is theme-specific. You will find your past CSS in the CSS revisions link located at My Sites → Customize → CSS. -
Thank you so much for patiently explaining all of this and referencing the Themes instruction page. I will go through this in more detail now. I really appreciate it.
