A few questions about the 'premium plan'

    Hello WordPress!
I’m thinking of upgrading from free to premium, and I have a few questions.

    1. Do you get a domain for free, when you purchase the premium plan?
    2. I didn’t quite understand how domains work – do you have to pay 80 dollars each year to keep the same domain name?
    3. How does adds work? Do you have to make a deal with the company behind the adds, or is it just automatically okay in the legal sense, when you add adds to your blog?
    4. Is it legal to download wordpress.com to your computer + themes via wordpress.org?

Thank you! I’m quite new at this, but I hope it’s no convenience.

    1. Yes you get a free custom domain name when you upgrade to a paid plan.
    2. The Premium plan is actually $99 per year paid annually in advance. You need to pay each year if you wish to keep your custom domain name active. https://wordpress.com/pricing/
    3. The Premium plan entitles you access to WordPress.coms WordAds programme https://en.support.wordpress.com/monetize-your-site/ . You don’t have the ability to set up your own ads.
    4. You can’t download WordPress.com. You access it from WordPress.com servers. You can only use WordPress.com themes here unless you upgrade to the Business plan. Perhaps you need to read the differences between .com and .org here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
