A friend frequent commenter is suddenly showing up as "spam"

A good friend and frequent commenter suddenly found that his comments were showing up nor was he getting the “waiting for approval” message. Now I see all of his attempts are in the spam folder. Why did this happen and how do I make sure he is able to comment again?

You can mark the comments as “not spam” so Akismet learns not to sequester them. Your friend can contact Akismet Staff by using this link http://akismet.com/contact/
__ I think Akismet is catching my comments by mistake. -
It could also be that someone else on a different blog reported that user as spam. It could be he made a post with too many links in it, and was automatically put in that category. Or made too many comments over too short a span of time.
