A fully-functional website

Hello, I have a question – Is it possible, here on WP.com to create a fully-functional website ? Like http://www.yahoo.com for example? All I see is that you can create a blog or a simple blog-like website.
If is possible please tell me how to do it – in details.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi!

It’s definitely possible to create a fully-functional website. It really just depends on what functions you’re looking for. For example, you wouldn’t be able to create a functional search engine on WordPress.com, but you could create a site for your business. Could you elaborate on what you’re looking for?

1st – OK I want to see some real WP.com sites ( business or organization ones) At least five sites, please. Could you post their URLs here?

2nd – The information on this (future) website will be under Copyright law. For example there might be the first few pages of my client’s books. So if I publish such materials in my site what will happen to their ownership? I want to say that somewhere in the Terms of Service or some other documentation I saw that all the info published in WP.com becomes public.

    Hi!

    Please see below:

We have some more prominent sites that run on our VIP service listed here:

    https://vip.wordpress.com/clients/

    They’re all running on WordPress.com.

You’re also welcome to search our Freshly Pressed blogs (high quality featured posts) on WordPress.com:

We also have some amazing artists and writers at WordPress.com that have been featured in larger publications. Busy Mockingbird was featured in Buzzfeed, NBC, and others:

Ok now I’d like to know more about adds on my website. Is it true that i should pay to be able to put adds on my website? And what is the fee?

Also is it true that I cannot use a custom theme unless I purchase a business or a premium plan? If there are free customizable themes which ones are they ?

One last thing – could I put my own code into the website ? Like jquery, css, html ?

Display advertisements (images advertising a product) are not permitted on WordPress.com (regardless of upgrade). However, you can use affiliate links within the body of your posts. You can read more about our advertising/affiliate link policies here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/affiliate-links/

Also is it true that I cannot use a custom theme unless I purchase a business or a premium plan? If there are free customizable themes which ones are they ?

Themes cannot be uploaded to WordPress.com, only self-hosted sites using WordPress.org. The difference between the two is described here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

At WordPress.com, we have over 300 themes you can choose from here:

    http://theme.wordpress.com

Regarding customizations, you can customize fonts and colors as well as use custom CSS with the Premium bundle or Business bundle:

One last thing – could I put my own code into the website ? Like jquery, css, html ?

No – this is not possible at WordPress.com regardless of upgrade. Even with the Custom Design upgrade, only CSS is enabled. We strip out other code for security reasons:
