A Japanese WordPress card has appeared on and blocked the view of my new post on my Facebook page

I deleted a second site I didn’t ever want. My blogs started showing up on my Facebook page so I disconnected the connection and anything else having to do with Facebook. Now a second site has appeared and put a WordPress notice in Japanese about cookies appeared in my new post on Facebook. I deleted anything from or about WordPress on my Facebook page and the japanese notice is still there, blocking my Facebook post. When I try to delete the second site, a dot com, that is yet to be launched, it says I’ll lose my WordPress site! If I can’t get that Japanese card blocking most of my post off my post on Facebook, and this is what is going to continue to happen, I’ll have to cancel my WordPress blog. The notice didn’t go away even after I said I’d accept the cookies

    Hello world!

    Welcome to WordPress.com. 也欢迎?到这里,还没想好写什么,有点浪费!

when I made a post on my Facebook page, this came up, obscuring most of the visible part of the post and I couldn’t seem to write anymore posts. When I went into my blog to disconnect any connections between it and Facebook, a second site had appeared on my blog: it was my email address followed by “.wordpress.com”

I don’t see any message. Just this dialogue box with labelled tabs above it and something under the box, saying I can use these HTML tags and attributes. I am basically computer illiterate and don’t know what these are or if there is something I am supposed to do with them. Had a hell of a time getting that screen shot, considering I didn’t have the slightest idea what it was or how to do it.

I would follow up with emails if I knew how to do that. I assumed that’s what this is. I don’t know what a URL is and don’t understand any of the terms you take for granted

When I deleted that second site made up of my email address and “.wordpress.com” I can put posts on my Facebook page again, at least, which I wasn’t able to do while the second site was on my blog. And this time the Chinese note did not appear. But I can’t seem to get it off the previous screen.

How can someone I want to view my blog access it through the internet? I try putting my domain name? URL? or whatever it is that ends in .wordpress.com and it comes up saying it doesn’t exist. Did I accidentally delete my site by deleting the second site?

  • The only site under your account is https://santaanswerskidsquestions.wordpress.com/ and folks can view it there.

We really need to see what you’re seeing by way of a screenshot.

In our experience, https://snipboard.io/ tends to be the easiest, just follow the instructions right on the page there.

We also have our own instructions at https://wordpress.com/support/make-a-screenshot/

I couldn’t get the snapshot to work but I did cut and paste it from the post in my Facebook page and did send it to you in a previous message after you requested it. It’s the one that starts out all in Chinese. Or you can go to my Facebook page, Montana Santa, and see it on one of the posts. But thanks for all the attempt to help someone so inept. I know how frustrating that must be for you.

One person said it was a comment, so I treated it as such to no avail. But it did bring up a site called Duck Duck Go that is trying to sell me a privacy protection app

  • I’m sorry, it’s really tough to picture what you’re seeing, especially since we generally work with WordPress rather than Facebook.

Are you sharing this link on Facebook?

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but I put https://santaanswerskidsquestions.wordpress.com into Google search and it just takes me to several sites, including my Facebook page, Montana Santa. Interesting enough, the blog is on there, but only a portion of it when I access my Facebook page through my computer. Do I need to search for it through something other than Google?

  • I’m not sure about your Google and Facebook setup.

But if I type santaanswerskidsquestions.wordpress.com into Google it brings up your site.

If I type it in the browser address bar I see your site, too.

Is there a chance you’re typing something else — adding a space or missing a letter for example?

I thought I had severed all the links between the two, but in trying to figure out the share button, I may have inadvertently sent it to my Facebook. I’m not worried about the Chinese thing anymore because it is only on that one post and once I deleted that second site, it stopped blocking me putting on any further posts and hasn’t appeared on them. I suppose that one left will disappear when I eventually delete that post. Now I am more concerned about people being able to access my wordpress blog. It goes right to the blog when I click on the address in your message, but not when I put it into the Google search engine. I’d prefer it to be accessed separately from Facebook through some other source.

  • What exactly are you entering in to Google to find your site?

  • Unknown's avatar

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I typed it in exactly the same (it brought up the last time I typed it in) but this time it worked! My relatives and friends and customers are going to love you! Maybe your typing it in set off something. I remember reading that a site has to be visited several times before Google picks it up. Sorry I was such a pain in the butt. You’ve been a tremendous help
