"A new editor is coming to level up your layout."

A few questions regarding that announcement found at the bottom of my post and page editors (Calypso):
1. Suppose my layout doesn’t want or need leveling up?
2. What does a level layout look like? And an unlevel one?
3. Is “leveling up” akin to “leveling down” or “leveling sideways”?
4. Come on, on the level, what’s the real reason for the new editor? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I hate the new editor. I like the classic editor. Please keep the classic editor as an option.

I’m trying to use it, but so far I see no benefits over the old editor. On the contrary, now things get unnecessarily complicated such as editing a link. I know people always complain when new editor is introduced but in this case, I don’t see the point. Is there a document showing item by item why the new editor is better?

I don’t feel so easy about this level up thing, but my site is even more jittery about it. It’s like the whole uplevel movement makes her feel restless and cranky. So she asked me to add one more item to my list. Here go:
5. (She says) After I been upleveled, can I quickly be downleveled again, please? The current level is just fine thanks.

Perhaps if it had said “A new editor is coming to up the level of your layout” it may almost have made sense. It must be another hipster phrase used at WordPress towers like “Beep beep boop”. All I can find is:
To level up means to ingest magic mushrooms and trip. It is a clever play off of the classic Super Mario games, where obtaining mushrooms gave the player additional lives.

Rather than a clever pun, I would like to see documentation with detail. I still don’t see what we gain by using the new editor.
