A picture of beauty
-
Hello,
As you can see here http://classicaus.wordpress.com/
I am having a disastrous time getting the pictures to go side by side. Neither is aligned in any direction, they just refuse to sit next to each other. SuggestionsThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Ok. I kind of got them next to each other, but I find positioning floating images nearly impossible here. I will be making buttons for my site and I am going it really difficult to place them.
Am I missing something really obvious about image placement in wordpress?

I think I got tied up in speech bubbles that form when you caption an image, which was like struggling in a net. However, those bubbles do look good.
I starting to play on the HTML part of editing as it seems more responsive then trying to click and drag etc.

If you’re interested in arranging multiple objects (e.g. two or more images) any way you like, you must familiarize yourself with html coding for tables.

tables.
Ohh…that word sent a html shiver down my spine.
I used to study html and could speak, read and write javascript.
I blocked that painful past right out -
Ah. Nicely put!
Reconsider maybe? Just a little? For instance, all you would need for that couple of images plus texts is:
<table align="center"> <tr><td>IMAGE1_CODE_HERE</td><td>IMAGE2_CODE_HERE</td></tr> <tr><td>TEXT1_HERE</td><td>TEXT2_HERE</td></tr> </table>(Plus some extra frills if you’d rather have more space between the images etc.)

I thought by now software would have completely made that stuff redundant.
I noticed there is some coding stuff on your site.
Thanks panos

@pornstarbabylon: Correct but not safe; often gets stripped out if you switch to visual. Safer:
<div style="text-align:center;">CODES_HERE</div>In addition, classicaus wants to have some text snippets below each image, so he needs a table anyway (or coding for two columns).
@classicaus: You’re welcome. Yes there’s some coding stuff there, and there’s going to be more. Another solution for you, if you’re a PC user, is preparing the posts in Windows Live Writer.

windows Live Write also offers tables here is the download link http://windowslivewriter.spaces.live.com/blog/cns

So I gave it a good go and did this. I will do it better when I download
the WLW program
<table border="0" align="center">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td>
<p style="text-align:center;"><img style="border:0 initial initial;margin:0;padding:0;" title="Classics Armchair" src="http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/riptide/Fernando_&_Humberto_Campana_Leatherworks_Armchair_i6c.jpg" alt="where the thoughts are thunk" width="119" height="119" /></p></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td style="text-align:center;">ClassicAus Armchair</td>
<td style="text-align:center;">Education</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>General Commentaries; currently featuring the push to expand the options of the Army's female soldiers</td>
<td>Educational discussions, debates; currently featuring a discussion on Teach for Australia</td>
</tr>
</tbody></table></br>
</br>
</br>
</br>
anyways, that stuff would be real basics to you guys.
As you can see I struggled to get the writing to sit nicely. It is a bit jammed together.
It is not a question! I will download program soon and fix it. Thanks everyone
