A plug in suggestion
-
I would like to have my small number of readers to be able to leave links from their blog posts on individual post of my blog so we can all share frugal living tips. Sort of like Food Waste Friday or Menu Plan Monday is used on some blogs.
I was hoping to be able to use Mister Linky which is very simple to use. According the Mister Linky website’s instructions for wordpress ( http://www.misterlinky.net/plugin/ ) we need a plug in button, which of course is not allowed. Any possibility of allowing a Mister Linky or wordpress creating it’s own version of something similar so readers can share with each other? Or is it already available and I don’t know about it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The plugin isn’t going to be available on WordPress.com.
You can use the Button-Linkies by Mister Linky though: http://www.blenza.com/linkies/wizard.php
I’ve used it and it works well here on WordPress.com -
Thank you so much for the help. How is this done, please. I don’t know how to add it to my blog posts. Would I need to copy and paste the code some place on each blog post I want to include it on or would it be a widget that people could use anytime? Are there step by step instructions for this someplace?

If you go to that link, you can customize the linky. Unfortunately we can’t do much customization on here.
Start by making an account on their site. Basically all you will do is select “WordPress.com” and “Button-Linkies” and then generate your code. Simple copy and paste that code to a page or post on your blog using the text editor. You’ll need to generate a new code anytime you want a new linky. That’s it!

I copied and pasted the code onto a post then did a preview and nothing is there. I tried three different codes. I published one test and the code is there but any link entered doesn’t show up. Is this the only way to do it? I signed up as a Mister Linky platinum member five years ago and never used it. Now I want to be a free member until I’m sure I’ll actually use it. I don’t want to pay for membership and waste my money. I couldn’t find an option to sign up again as a free account.

I saw the Mister Linky option for plugin for WordPress but it’s not free.
I am looking for a free way to install the qTranslate plugin. -
I am looking for a free way to install the qTranslate plugin.
Automatic translation is not available to WordPress.com blogs. We do not have FTP access and we bloggers cannot install any plugins, we cannot use Microsoft or Google translation widgets or any others, as they are JavaScript and it’s stripped out to preserve security on this multiuser blogging platform. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#javascriptHowever, I have translation on my WordPress.com blogs. There are two workarounds and you will find them here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/02/14/translation-widget-for-wordpress-com-blogs/
Note: You can copy and paste the code on my Translations page and then replace every occurrence of my blog’s URL in the code with your own blog’s URL.If you are bilingual or multilingual and want to publish your free hosted WordPress.com in two or more languages but do not want to rely on machine translation that can be done see here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/02/25/wordpress-com-multilingual-blogs/

You’re almost there, anitaestes. It looks like you pasted the code in the visual editor and not the text editor. See here for some more help: http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/
