A POST HAS MYSTERIOUSLY VANISHED FROM MY BLOG

    I have just noticed that a blog post which has been on my blog for a year or so seems to have suddenly vanished, I guess removed by wordpress because it might be libellous.

    Can you please tell me what is going on here and have you removed any of my posts, if so how many.

    The post that concerns me is one about Amany Attia whom I describe as a thief and a liar.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Staff do not just remove post without appropriate process and notification. What is the title and/or URL of the specific post in question?

    I see these:

    I also see others with that same name in them that have been indexed by Google.

    Sorry about the duplication, it looked as though I had made a mistake & it didn’t post the first time so I tried to post my thread again.

    So far I have checked & rechecked my blog & cannot find the post & therefore cannot give you the specific url of the post.

    I discovered the problem today when I wanted to send a link to that post to someone. I remembered what I think was the title of the post which is Amany Attia is a thief & a liar ( but I may be completely wrong and those words might just be in the copy. Anyway I also did a search on my blog site for the name amany attia which returned a mention of that name in one other post still remaining on my blog but did not respond with the post I know should be there. I think I might have posted it as much as about three years ago.

    I also scrolled back through every entry and checked my posts page in the admin section – no sign of the post !

    I imagined it might have been removed because it is potentially libellous. But wordpress are not responsible, only me, and it would only be libellous if untrue. It is true and a libel action would never be brought against me for that reason and it would bring very harmful publicity to what is a fraudulent financial operation.
    For that reason I knew such a dishonest person and corporation would not sue me for libel & if they did, I’d love it. They have everything to lose and I, nothing at all. Many other people are aware of this.

    Let me check the references you give and google & see if I am wrong & it is there.

    I feel certain the post had a picture of Amany Attia with the headline she is a liar and a thief. It really seems to have gone.

    But if you can tell me how to open the xml file I downloaded from wordpress that was supposed to have all my blog content, then I can see if it is there – where I expect to find it.

    It is the case that when I have tried to open the downloaded file it says I can’t – I don’t know why.

    I distinctly remember making a point of writing the post with Attia’s picture to try & goad a libel action against me for publicity & prosecution purposes.

    I know that wordpress would only remove it with due process & notify me, so this makes me think Attia paid wordpress staff to surreptiously remove the post.

    I am now a bit paranoid that other posts might have removed as well as my filing ( like that of most journos is chaotic !

    I think you need to hear from Staff on this because you are so far out of line I would breach the forum code of conduct if I laid out my thoughts on what you have posted here. I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

    I’m sorry you believe one of your posts is missing. I would need something concrete to use to look into this further, such as the post title or a link to the post.

    WordPress.com very rarely removes content from a user’s site, and only do so when required by law (such as a court order or a copyright/DMCA notice). In every such case we immediately contact the site owner at the email address listed on the account.
