A problem with the way my posts appear on search engines
-
Hi,
My posts appear on search engines, but clicking on the links doesn’t lead to them specifically but to the main page or the category page. Can you please help me understand what can I do to fix it?Site: (email visible only to moderators and staff).

Hi there – Could you guide us through a specific example? Include links if you can please. That should help us get a better idea of how we can recreate this ourselves and then see how we can help. Thanks!

I hope this works:
my blog results are third and fourth from the top in this search, but the results don’t lead to the specific post, they lead to general pages.
Thanks (and sorry for the delay in my reply).

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing the link, I looked at it and found that Google is showing this category archive for that search result: https://haffuga.wordpress.com/category/%D7%A1%D7%A4%D7%A8%D7%99%D7%9D/
So when someone visits that link, they see that category archive, not the specific post.
This is actually out of our control as search engines like Google — after having indexed your whole site — will show what it thinks is the most relevant page related to the search query. Google’s algorithm thinks that category archive is the most relevant to this specific search query, so that’s why it shows this link instead of a specific post.
As mentioned, we don’t have any control over this. But you can try using Google Search Console with your site to get more insights into your site’s search performance.
