A question about themes
-
Hey everyone,
First off, I’ll admit I’m a newbie at this blogging stuff, so before I get down & dirty, know that your help and patience is greatly appreciated.
Ok…here’s what I’m looking for, plain and simple. I’ve got a wordpress blog, and I was hoping to use a third party theme called Creativity Bulb 1.0 (just throw it in the google searchbar and you’ll find about a dozen wordpress sites that have it available for download). I’ve downloaded this theme. Now, I know you have to purchase the CSS upgrade to keep the changes in CSS you want, but before I do I want to make sure that I’m spending money on the right thing.
Just to reiterate, I’ve got a free blog hosted by wordpress, and I’m looking to give it the look of the aforementioned theme. Do I just have to purchase the upgrade, pop in the CSS for the theme i’m looking for and I’m good to go? Or am I way off the beaten path?
Also… when I pop the theme CSS into the CSS editor, the preview looks like my previous theme with some glitches on it, nothing like the desired theme. Is this supposed to happen?
Thanks in advance for your help.

No. You can’t do that. We don’t run on the same software that the theme was written for. If you know CSS, then you might be able to replicate the look of the theme using the sandbox here. Don’t buy the CSS upgrade unless you know CSS. There is no official support from wp.com for it and very little in the way of volunteer support.

Okay. In that case, what would my next step be? Because really all I’m looking to do is give my blog a custom look by going with a theme different than the handful offered on WordPress. What options do I have in trying to make that happen? Would a switch to .org help?
Once again, forgive my ignorance. If this question is better off posted in another section, just let me know.
