A question on retired themes.
-
Hello. My blog is new but very old at the same time. It was transfered to me by another user and with the free domain I had access to many retired themes. I made personal plan and custom domain and now I cannot access the old themes. Why is that? Most of the new themes are not in my liking to be honest. Even the premium ones. I know that retired are no longer updated, but I wanted to have the choice.
Can someone clarify why I lost my access. Thank you!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Do you happen to know the name of the retired theme that was activated on the site? There are certain instances where we may be able to reactivate the theme for you, but since the site was transferred to you, I am not sure if it is still available.
Also, since we do not support retired themes, we definitely suggest updating to a newer theme that receives updates and developer support. Depending on the theme, we may have an updated or comparable version.
Let me know, thanks!

My question was more why I lost access. I had themes from the times of Pilcrow.. Fresh and clean etc. I will definitely use a new theme but it is strange how I lost access. I did change the blog address but that should not affect it, or at least wasn’t up until now. I suppose it is because of the custom domain. In a way WP wants me to use updated themes. Just my guess.
I know that I had access to over 300 themes.. Free and premium.. Now they are not so many.
Anyway, thanks. I don’t want a special theme. Just wanted my access to them.. For my own strange reasons lol. And wanted to know why I lost it. Thanks! -
If your site is here at WordPress.com and if your account is quite a few years old have you tried looking at themes in wp-admin ( add /wp-admin/themes.php to your URL).

Hi… I think you transferred me the site.. 😁 Thanks a bunch. Yes, I try but wp_admin looks a bit different with the custom domain. I am a many years free user but brand new to something premium. Anyway.. It is not a big deal. I have another free site with access to themes. Just was curious about this one 😊

Hi., all. It was a matter of the forced WP change where we had no access to classic wp-admin and classic editor. A slight change in the account settings solved the problem. I found the solution in another thread. Thanks!
