    Hi there, I have just transferred a client’s wordpress website from being hosted by one company, to another. All I have done is pointed the name servers. Now they tell me I need to contact wordpress to get the A Record to add in? Is this correct? If so, how do I go about getting this A Record?

    Hi there,

    Are you speaking of a WordPress.com site, or a self-hosted WordPress site?

    If you’re speaking of a self-hosted site, you need to contact the hosting provider to get the name servers or IP addresses you need to connect the domain to that host.

    If it’s for a WordPress.com site, can you please give the WordPress.com URL as well as the custom domain you’re trying to link to it? To link a custom domain to a WordPress.com site you will need the domain mapping uprgade:
