Hey there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
Are you looking to host the site with Bluehost, or with WordPress.com?
Many thanks.

As far as I know it’s being hosted by WordPress.com, the domain was purchased through Bluehost.

Hello there,
Ok, what is the uRL of the site you need help with?
We’ll see if we can track down the settings available to us.

Hi there.
The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s name servers to the following values:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMHowever, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records, accordingly.
If you still want to map your domain using A records, please be sure to create two records using these IP addresses:
192.0.78.25 192.0.78.24
Thanks!

Hi there!
Nameservers or DNS record changes can take up to 72 hours to take effect. However, please note that your site at https://atl.pcj.mybluehost.me/ is not hosted by us at WordPress.com. As of now, you don’t have a WordPress.com site. So pointing your domain to WordPress.com nameservers will not load anything.
To clarify, there are two versions of WordPress — WordPress.com and WordPress.org. Your current site with Bluehost uses WordPress.org. We are WordPress.com, a managed hosting that takes care of the technical sides of WordPress hosting (regular updates, security, etc.) so you can focus on creating content.
There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about them, please check the following page that explains it well: WordPress.com vs WordPress.org.
I see that you’re yet to start working on your site, so if you’d like to build your site with us at WordPress.com, we’d love to help! Would you like to tell us a bit about the site you’re building? What’s the site for, and what features do you need on your site? This will help us learn more about your site goals and share personalized suggestions with you.

I’m really confused at this point. I purchased a domain from Bluehost and was told that I’d need a hosting package. I purchased one through them for WP, however, when I hired someone to help design the site I was told that I hadn’t purchased the domain. I’m trying to create a business website with the domain name I purchased.

Ok, so the account you’re posting from here on WordPress.com (username:
spiritualadvisormaria) doesn’t have any purchases associated with it here on WordPress.com.When you purchased the hosting package, was this also paid through Bluehost? In that case, you’d be hosting through Bluehost, and you wouldn’t need us to make any changes here on WordPress.com. We also provide hosting services, but we’re a separate company to Bluehost!
I do remember replying to someone else who had a similar question to yours; so I’d like to ask: when you were going through the hosting purchase process, did Bluehost ask you if you wanted to use “WordPress.com” or “WordPress.org”, and did you then select WordPress.com?
If so then I believe what that does is: on your Bluehost account, the hosting is set up, the WordPress software is installed for you, and it looks like you also received the Jetpack plugin which creates a connection to WordPress.com.
To clarify, the WordPress software in itself comes from WordPress.org originally. It’s free, and when it’s set up on a hosting space, the fresh WordPress site doesn’t connect to WordPress.com automatically.
The plugin called Jetpack is a sibling product of ours, which can be installed on WordPress sites hosted with other companies. It offers free and paid services; among other things, it lets you connect to WordPress.com to take advantage of the services that come from the Jetpack/WordPress.com servers – things like our stats, downtime monitoring, and a few other things. There’s more information about the various things Jetpack can do on https://jetpack.com/.
I’m not familiar with Bluehost’s service, but I do think you received the free Jetpack plugin and connection, if you selected to use WordPress.com while setting up your hosting at Bluehost. Generally though what it means is that for coordinating your domain and your hosting package, Bluehost is your best point of contact!
