A ‘Reusable Block’ that’s more like a preset?
-
I’m currently making a series of comparisons on a page where I’m using a specific format over and over. For example: A double column, each column has a generic title in a Paragraph block, then a Stack image block, and each of those Stacks are Center aligned.
If I could reproduce that over and over, it would save me a lot of time. I thought Reusable Blocks would fill that function, but applying that means every time I used it, it has the same stack of images.
Basically, what I want more is more of a ‘Preset Block’, where I can reuse this generic block set and then change the Stack images for each occurrence. Does an option like that exist?

Hi! You’re thinking of Block Patterns. We don’t yet have an option for creating new patterns on WordPress.com yet, but we do have a collection of lovely Block Patterns to choose from:
https://wordpress.com/support/block-pattern/Another option is to make a Reusable Block, then just convert to blocks each time you use it:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/reusable-block/#convert-to-regular-blocksThen you can edit it as you like.

Thank you, converting reusable blocks to normal blocks definitely works best. I’ll have to remember to press the convert button every time so I don’t risk destroying the reusable, but it should still be more efficient than what I was doing.

@cptkicksville the save dialog will actually ask if you want to update the resuable block, so if you see that message, just go back and convert to blocks first.
Cheers!
