A script is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly

I’m having the same issue. It must be a wordpress problem since so many are experiencing it???

Yeah, I have this problem too – thought it was something to do with my new AVG (antivirus) or XP Windows Update software but seems to happen on my other Vista machine too – only happens on the WordPress.com site.

we have the same issue on our wordpress site. seems to be very buggy. there are so many linked scripts and styles, not sure exactly which one is causing it. if anyone resolves this bug, please post the solution ASAP. thanks.

I think perhaps a big trojan war has started out… …

Hi,
Few of my visitors complained about it, and I just encountered the same problem myself on IE. It doesn’t appear to be resolved.
-
I’m still encountering this problem with IE6. My wife encountered it earlier this morning with IE7.
I’m noticing that image alt text is displaying for the first time since the 2.5 upgrade. Maybe the script problem was caused by the alt text fix ? …

One of the updates last night to our stats scripts caused the problem. If you are still having the problem try a force refresh, clearing your cache, etc.

I have been having this problem for over a month everytime I try to update or edit a page. I think I may have a bigger problem. Any help?

I’m having this problem now. It startet out (it seems) in WordPress. But my IE7 will not start at all now. Using alternative browsers for now. Will try to reinstall IE7 and report back.

If you’re running Vista (yes, some people do) and use IE7 (default) the this page may be of help: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/8038f9ac-9bf9-4809-8d75-fc42818d8af71033.mspx
It is “Tips for solving problems with Internet Explorer”.

IE7 has released their service pack 3 for XP, and Vista has released their service pack 1. It’s being updated, in stages, for all users – spread out through like June of this year. Could this be the problem? I had the script error, also. But did the update and it no longer is a problem. Not sure if that’s just a coincidence. But people may want to go to the MSN site to update their software:

My suspision is that the image upload add-in for WordPress might be the cause. It is only a hunch it needs to be looked more into.
