A simple tool to (ONLY) BUILD a basic site.

    Hello

    I don’t know why it’s SO difficult to find an answer to this, but I would appreciate any feedback.

    The ONLY thing I want is a tool or software to BUILD a basic website. I do NOT need hosting or ANY type ot subscription service.

    Aren’t there any simple ONE TIME PURCHASE FEE website BUILDING tools or software, which ONLY CREATE sites?

    In the old days there was software like MS FrontPage (which sucked, but that’s the type of thing I’m looking for).

    I see NO reason to pay a perpetual monthly fee for tools to build ONLY ONE SIMPLE website, and which would only take me 2-3 hours of work.

    I ALREADY have hosting.

    If no such software exists, it boggles my mind. I might as well write my own website manually via HTML.

    Have you asked your host? No doubt you can install the free WordPress.org software there but perhaps your host will charge you for hosting the site there.
    Or you could create a completely free site here at WordPress.com. A free site though would have a subdomain ending in .blog or .wordpress.com.

    Thank you for any and all responses. After some research, I’ve discovered that what I’m seeking is website development software, such as WYSIWYG HTML editors. I found a decent one made by CoffeeCup which is reasonably priced and seems to offer a lot of features., So I will try that out.
