A single post attracting so much spam
-
I periodically check my spam comments in case a real one gets flagged by accident. I noticed that one of my posts has been regularly targeted by spammers (Akismet traps 10-20 spam comments on it a day).
This is the post: http://somnivision.com/2014/11/07/solitude/ It’s not even a popular one, so I’m confused as to why these dirty spammers like it so much? Is there anything I can do to deter them? None of them are getting through but my spam folder gets pretty big…
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Usually it’s because there’s an approved comment that is spam. Spammers search for spam comments because they know if the comment is tolerated, there’s a high chance others will be, so any post with spam on it gets hammered, basically.
I don’t see any obvious spam on that post, though. Have you had one that went live and deleted it?

@raincoaster That’s a definite possibility… Sometimes I get the occasional reblog from some weird site that appears to be a link farm. I mod and delete those asap but I think one may have been sitting up too long on this particular post.
It’s weird, I’m getting spam in Japanese which is quite different from the usual spam in pseudo-english. I’m afraid to close comments or they might move onto a different post?
