A Site Password, please!
-
I want to be able to password-protect an entire blog site, not just a specific post/page. The referenced site is for a boys middle school soccer team. We want to simply password protect the site with a password that only the coaches, players and parents will know. Anyone with the site password will be able to access the entire site.
I want to use the same type of Password Security available now to password protect a page or post, but I want it to apply to the entire site. So whenever anyone arrives at any post/page on the site, they are challenged to enter the site password. If successful, their browser is cookied and they are given access to the entire site. If I separately password protect a specific post or page, the user would be prompted again for an additional password.
I don’t want to accomplish this by making the site “private” and then having to create a list of authorized users that each must have WordPress account. I simply want any visitor to be able to enter a site password.
Thanks!

Unfortunately, we don’t have a way to password protect an entire site yet, but we’ll definitely consider it.
