A Small Query…

    Due to several reason, i want to move my blog to a new web host of my choice. The problem is, all the sites which link to my blog are linking me witht he URL http://luminar.wordpress.com. Now I cannot ask each and every one of those linkers to change my blog’s link, right? So I just wanted to ask, can i use my old .wordpress domain even after I move to a new host?
    If not, can I atleast have my .wordpress domain redirecting users to my new domain?

    WordPress.com will not re-direct for you.

    You can retain your blog here and either (1) put up a post with a link to your new url in it or, (2) you can use a text widget to do the same.

    It’s your responsibility to follow-up the posts you make here on the forum. We are all volunteers here, even our moderators are volunteers and we most certainly will not be emailing you or any other bloggers a response to forum posts you or they make.

    What we usually recommend is that you empty out your sidebar except for a single text widget containing an explaiation that you’ve moved and provide a link to your new site. It’s too easy for spammers to abuse redirection so forwarding is not allowed except for a coupel of rare occasions.
