  I am about to create a new blog which is going to be a diary. I want my readers to be able to either start at the beginning of my diary and read my posts going forward or to be able to find the latest post easily. It would be great if WordPress created and Sort button (a bit like Microsoft has for sorting emails ) which readers could click which would reverse the order of posts thus saving new readers to have to go to the earliest post and read “backwards”. It could be added to the Widgetrs options so bloggers could add or not as they wished

  You might use the archives shortcode in text widgets so your readers could select from a post by post listing for a month. If you use a theme with “next” and “previous” links on top or bottom of each post, readers could read in the order they prefer.

  not exactly what you are asking, but a work-around that would be of use.

  thanks fofr your response. I just think WordPress are missing a trick here!

  the work around is a solution until WordPress come up with what I am looking for!!

  Yes, that is what the ideas-forum is for. I’m sure you know most of us are your fellow bloggers volunteering answers.
  just wanted to inspire another possibility until something else comes along…
