A theme that sorts with categories

    Hey there everyone!
    I need some help, I’m setting up a blog here for the first time using WordPress.com (I usually used .org). The first most surprising thing is that the themes are limited.
    However, I’d like some help finding a theme that on the homepage, sorts the posts according to category. I have been searching but haven’t found any.
    Does anyone know any that fits this?

    Thank You in advance!
    P.S It must be a free theme. (A custom header would also be nice, but not pertinent).

    Hi there. There’s no theme that will sort posts on the home page, but all themes allow you to sort posts via category in the menu.

    Blog posts by default appear on your home page (main feed) in reverse chronological order. You cannot prevent posts from publishing on the main feed, but you can set up category pages that will only display posts that have a certain category assigned. You’ll need to create a custom menu in order to use category pages. See these articles for comprehensive instructions:

    To not have your main feed appear on the home page you’ll need to assign a static page as your home page. You can always add links to your category archives on the static page, but they’ll be regular text links that won’t show any content that dynamically updates.     You cannot assign a category page as your home page.
