  Silly me perhaps, but I downloaded & activated Gears only once. I have three WP blogs. Is it necessary to install Gear three times?

  yes it’s per blog I believe you have to download it once
  then activate Gears on all three blogs.

  …Why are my simple questions always escalating into Big Problems?…

  The Gears activating of two blogs went smooth. The third one started a file update immediately and stopped with an Error Download; a GIF. I followed the instructions to disable Gears and enbale it again, then the crash came at ‘Paste Word’ and after that ‘Theme Edition’. What’s wrong?

  Yes, the other blogs now also show crashes in Gears’ Local Storage. I’ll mail ‘m.

  Well…I gave it a few other tries, and now I have three updates of files completed; no error reports whatsoever.
  So I guess it’s ok now.

  I had issues with Gears and turbo when it first became available so I’ve disabled it and will likely not try again for quite a while. The extra 3 to 6 seconds it takes for my blog admin stuff to load, on average, isn’t going to ruin my life.

  So far no detection of increased speed, no…Maybe it needs time to adapt to my snail’s pace?
  I’ll see what happens in the next few days, if satisfaction is not guaranteed, I’ll turn the thing off again.
