A Very Basic Question!
-
Hello wordpress forum group!
I’m new to wordpress and I absolutely love it. I find it relatively easy to navigate, post, attach images, and edit using this site. I’ve already created a couple blogs within the past week, one for a final assignment for a Master’s level course I am taking, and one to post pictures of student projects in my classroom.
mikesnarrativeinquiry.wordpress.com and
mrlouie.wordpress.comA quick question, and I’m sure it is a very simple answer.
I have the number “4” in an orange square in the top right corner of my screen after I log in. What does this refer to? My guess is either people who have posted “likes” on my posts, or the number of followers my blog has?
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thank you thank you!
Is there something in the settings that prevents the number from expanding when I click on it or hover over it, like it shows on that linked page that you sent?
Thanks

I believe the maximum displayed is 9 notifications and there is no way for us bloggers to expand the display.
-
Oh ok. My issue is that none of the notifications expand. All I get is the number in the toolbar, and that is it.

Would you like to take your issue to Staff? Here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

The staff must have been reading this forum post. I just clicked on the number and the notifications popped up. Problem resolved, thanks so much for your help!

Aha! they were monitoring. I’m happy to hear this has been resolved. Best wishes to you. :)
