A way to have people follow our blog and get email notifications

  I think it is called the RSS. We want to have a button (a way) for people to subscribe to our blog via email. I put the RSS on our website, but when you click on it it takes you to a complicated page that would deter anyone from signing up. I know there is a simpler way to do this as I’ve subscribed to other WordPress bloggers in the past. It was a simple button and I was set up and get email notifications about their blog when it is updated. Can you help us figure this out?
