A widget…..
-
I imagine I’m not the first to ask this…… but I’d like to create my blog here in WordPress but have the page dynamically embed into my existing external website. Is there a simple available widget that I cant seem to find?
Site: https://tec2021ca.wordpress.com.
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: Yes -
Hello there,
What is the URL of the external website?
You could embed using an iframe https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_iframe.ASP
Alternatively, you could link one site to the other in a menu :)
Once we see the site, we could offer more insights.

Much thanks for the reply!!
The external website is https//theetobicokeconnection.wild apricot.org.
I want to drop the widget into one of the pages on the site.Cheers,

Hi Jim – The URL is a little broken. Is this the URL of the site?
https://theetobicokeconnection.wildapricot.org
The site there is login access only so we’re not able to see, and that’s OK. However, the site there is not a WordPress site. Is that correct as well?

Thanks Dean!!
That is the URL of the site and yes its a membership site with access required. And yes, it’s not a WordPress site. Its a membership software app called Wild Apricot.Jim

Hi Jim :)
Thank you for the confirmation and details. There are two options to dynamically embed.
1. All sites on WordPress.com have an associated RSS feed: https://wordpress.com/support/feeds/
You can embed that RSS feed onto a page of your website to dynamically populate that page with the blog posts you publish on your WordPress.com blog.
2. You can use a code solution on your page, like @aleone89 mentions above, to embed your entire WordPress.com blog onto a page of your website.
Either of these options sound like they’ll fit your needs?

I guess what I’m looking for is html to do the embedding of my page. The RSS solution from aleone89 (while appreciated) only creates a link on my website and not the live site.
Apologies for being awkward as I’m rather new to all this…

Based on what you’re describing, try the iframe solution mentioned earlier: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/a-widget/#post-3740880
