A YouTube tutorial said I needed to buy a third party hosting website.
-
I purchased a GoDaddy site. The tech helping me was supposed to merge my existing site with you, with their webhossting. I am totally confused, as when I come to WordPress to my site with you, there is nothing there and it says you don’t know my site. Please help me. Do I need a third party site to do a blog? I am not selling anything at all. Just posting opinions and letting people comment. If I don’t need an external site please help me set up my site on your pages. Thank you in advance.

Hi there,
I do not see any sites under your @judesaying WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/sites.
Is it possible you created your site under a different login instead? What is the URL of the site you are needing help with?
Happy to check in our system so we can take a closer look.

The tech put it under judesaying.com; but also under Godaddy’s WordPress category.
Do I really need a third party hosting? Is WordPress useable without one for just blogging?Totally new at this. -
Hello there,
So there are two types of WordPress, the first being WordPress.com, which is a managed hosting service. The other is self-hosted WordPress, which is where the free open source software is obtained from WordPress.org. The two are considered separate, and generally, you would have one and not the other.
Godaddy and similar, deal with self-hosted WordPress. There are pros and cons to each version, and there’s more on this here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
The main difference is that on WordPress.com, we can help and guide you support wise as the build takes shape. With self-hosted WordPress, you’re rolling up your sleeves and getting under the hood of the software in places.
It sounds like you just need a blog, which is doable with WordPress.com – have you purchased a domain with GoDaddy, to use for this blog?
When you mention about merging sites, are you looking to convert this into the blog/WordPress site?
Will happily do my best to steer you in the right direction here.
