AARGH!!! WP.com always sends the wrong featured image to Facebook!!

Hi everyone,
When I publish my latest WP.com posting to Facebook, it
- always
grabs the wrong image! This, despite selecting the one I want as the “Featured Image”… am I missing something here?
My posts are really simple. They have one image at the top and one image at the bottom (my handwritten signature). I don’t like my handwritten signature showing up in my Facebook feed… ugh!
Sorry to rant but I’ve spent soooo much time on this – why is it so complicated? Thanks and have a good day :-)

We have no control over the images that Twitter, Facebook or any other social networks chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches.
We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include. See http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#images-in-publicize

Same problem…
It was working perfectly and today… it’s posting a header image to Facebook. The featured image gets posted to G+
I’m trying to find a solution as well…

Thank you for this helpful information. It still seems weird that even in a post with only TWO images, and I’ve already designated Image #1 as the “featured image”, Facebook still insists on using Image #2… annoying!
Anyways, perhaps you can just create the post in WordPress.com with only the ONE image included (the one you want to be displayed in Facebook), and then post to Facebook, and then go back and put the rest of your pictures into your blog post. I did this for my two-image scenario, it worked fine.
Just seems like a lot of work – and when I first send something from WordPress to Facebook I would rather ALL of my images be in there instead of just the one.
Anyways, enough griping… thanks again timethief (and good luck to you as well, “forgone”)…

I’m in the forums looking for an answer to the FB posting wrong pic problem too. Paul’s solution, though a tinch time-consuming, appears to get the job done. Yeah! I’m happy to try it.
