Ability to Approve Reblogs
-
There seems to be an ongoing problem with new blogs with content that is nothing more than reblogs from other sites – with no additional comments or input from the blogger. Some of these sites look like they are nothing more than a way to collect hits, or to collect information from sites that generate hits. There might also be situations where bloggers do not want their posts to appear on another site, e.g. if their post is reblogged only to be criticized.
Bloggers should have the ability to approve or deny permission for posts from their blog to be reused on other blog (similar to how comments on a blog can be moderated before the comment appears).
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That is not possible. http://en.support.wordpress.com/reblogs/
Also the fact that copy and paste theft and theft form RSS feeds is rampant ought to be acknowledged.

Reblogs are excerpts only and not whole posts. They are quotes that are properly attributed and linked to the source. Moreover, any blogger who thinks they cannot have their work properly quoted and attributed and then critiqued in any other blog or on any other site is dead wrong.

I realize that reblogs are excerpts only. But there is nothing stopping a reblogger from posting the link and adding something like “Wow, look at this stupid post” or words to that effect.
And I realiza that moderating reblogs is currently not possible. That is why I am proposing it as an idea. And I am posting it in the “ideas” forum after a private discussion with a WordPress staffer.

Hopefully, you understand that there is nothing preventing any blogger from quoting from any of your posts manually by copying and pasting or by using the RSS Feed entry and adding that same phrase.

Yes, I understand that there is no way to completely prevent reblogs of any kind. But bloggers should be able to have some control over how their original material is reblogged within WordPress sites.

If you find that someone has reblogged your post on a spam site hosted on WordPress.com, you can report them for review from the Admin bar while logged in. See here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/report-blogs/
raincoaster came up with this:
You could watermark your photos with “Please do not reblog” and then anyone who reblogs them looks like an ass. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/can-i-eliminate-the-option-to-reblog-my-posts?replies=9#post-1367158
You can, of course, include a similar “Please do not reblog” on each post and/or page that you publish.
Bottom line: I hear you and if you search for and read the early reblogging threads like this one https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/reblogging?replies=147 you will find I was dead set against the introduction of reblogging.
However, I have changed my point of view as I accepted the realities I shared with you above. Best wishes with changing the minds if TPTB but I sincerely doubt that will happen.
