Ability to embed stream from connectcast.tv

  Connectcast is a streaming service. I recently purchased the $100 offer from WordPress but can’t seem to get the embed to work. I searched wordpress and found oEmbed but from what I found there is no longer a plugin option as it’s now under Widgets and you can’t upload your own.

  You can only embed approved platforms and I’m not sure there are ANY livestream platforms that work with WordPress.com. There used to be the Gigya workaround, but that no longer works. Vodpod used to work, but it went under. I’m afraid I don’t have any solutions for you except to suggest you find a way to run your livestream through an approved platform like Vimeo.

  I purchased the upgraded wordpress in anticipation of being able to do just that. Feel like I wasted $100 if there is no work around nowadays it seems kinda fucked up. Is there any way of getting in touch with WordPress to either construct a work around or issue a refund? :/

  You can issue a refund yourself within 30 days of purchase, from Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades screen.

  I can flag this for staff, but they’re just going to tell you the same as me. Don’t buy upgrades unless they specifically say you will be able to do what you want. I mean, you can TRY to do this as Videopress, but I’m not familiar with embedding a livestream via Videopress and in all likelihood it’s not possible.

  I will flag it for them. Wait for them to respond. You can get a refund up to 30 days after purchasing the bundle if you find you don’t need it. But keep the domain name; you can always transfer that. Don’t give it up.

  Thanks for the responses especially about the 30 day window.. I thought it was 2. It’d be great to still use wordpress if there is a way to make it work~

  Hi there,

  WordPress.com doesn’t support Connectcast embeds, although I’ve passed that idea along to our team so they can keep it in mind as a possible feature down the road. :)

  I see you went ahead and cancelled your WordPress.com Premium upgrade, but kept the domain mapping for your domain deffy.gg. If you’d like to cancel that domain mapping, too, please just let me know and I can take care of that for you.
