Ability to have "coming soon" page?
-
Hi. I was wondering if there was a widget or way that I can have a “coming soon” page for my blog? It’s not ready yet but I’m afraid people will be trying to checking it out. I’d like to do some sort of “under construction” or “coming soon” thing so they can’t see my site, only my domain name. Is this possible? If so, how?
I was trying to install plug-ins that do this and then finally realized wordpress.com does NOT allow plug-ins! So I’m wondering if/how it’s possible?
My site is: galactablog.com, via FREE wordpress.com and my theme is Hemingway Rewritten. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, I’m new to this, so any videos or screen shots or basic, simple instructions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We don’t have a true “Coming Soon” page available, but you can set your site to private while you’re working on it:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
That way no one will see your work-in-progress. Once the site is ready, just change the privacy setting and anyone that visits can see it then.

Right, we don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com. Plugins can only be installed on self-hosted WordPress.org blogs.
If you are wondering how WordPress.com differs from WordPress.org, this support article explains the distinction:
WordPress.com has a lot of built-in features that were inspired by popular plugins. Chances are, the feature you are looking for is already built-in somewhere. Is there a particular plugin you were hoping to use? I can help find a workaround.
