Abnormal Stats

  I’m getting abnormal site stats compared to my organic visits….the pageviews are much higher and seem inaccurate…What could be the issue?

  Hi there, I checked your site’s stats, but I don’t see anything too out of order.

  Would you mind sharing why you feel they are inaccurate?

  Please note that not all stats update in real-time. For example, while a view and its referrer may be recorded immediately, it takes longer to determine if they’re a unique visitor and what country they’re from.

  Comparing it to stats from previous days….and I usually get 90% plus organic traffic. So the sudden rise is what makes me think otherwise

  Thanks for the additional information. I checked your site’s Jetpack connection and there seem to be some issues there. I’d try disconnecting and reconnecting Jetpack to see if that makes any difference.

  Also, looking at your site’s source code, there’s a lot of scripting and optimization there, so maybe temporarily disable any optimization or caching plugins while you try to troubleshoot the issue. You may need to leave them disabled to see what effect, if any, it has on your stats.

  Otherwise, you’ll need to reach out to Jetpack Support to keep troubleshooting things as everything seems fine on our end, so it could be something like your site is double-reporting stats or perhaps you’re just getting hit with bot traffic. They’ll have a better idea if there’s anything not working correctly. Feel free to link to this thread so they know what we’ve checked already.
