About a website whose owner passed away

A few years ago (2008) I helped set up a wordpress site for a friend. He was older and not very web savvy. Initially I hosted it on my own webspace for a time before moving it to wordpress.com for him. After a time, I removed myself from any admin privileges and he ran it himself.
Sadly, he passed away in 2018. He asked his daughter to keep maintaining the site, which she had been doing until recently with her fathers email and pwd …. then the admin email address she had been used was deleted (I guess the daughter hadn’t though to renew that, or to add herself as an admin). So she now has no access to the site.
Sooooooo, does anyone know of any route where I may request wordpress to give me (or, better yet, the daughter) access?
