  I would like to know..if I maintiain the free plan and can I apply for adsense for this wordpress

  In regards to Google’s Adsense, you would require a Business plan as indicated in the above site,

  If you’d like to use third-party ad networks like Google AdSense, OpenX, Lijit, BuySellAds, and Vibrant Media, those options are available on the WordPress.com Business Plan. Sites on the Premium Plan and below are limited to WordAds.
