About Author’s views

    1) Would like to know whether Author’s view are counted in overall views? They should not be counted, as it would be fictitious count.
    2) Is it possible that my security is compromised? For example I have not visited WordPress site last two days, from this computer, which is my only exclusive work station. However, Author’s views reflected are not zero, but some disproportionate figures.
    3) Can you help to sort out the problem? And let me know why it is happening?

    Authors Views reflect how many times posts written by a specific author are viewed.

    So, for example, I’m the only author on by blog, so if 5 posts are viewed, that’s both 5 views in general with 5 author views for MacManX.

    If, let’s say, TestUser were also an author on my blog, and 3 people read my posts and 2 people read theirs, that would be 5 views in general with 3 author views for MacMaX and 2 author views for TestUser.

    Think of it just as a way to see which author is more popular on any given day. :)

    Also, as long as you’re logged in to WordPress.com, we’ll never count your own views.
