About button disappeared from main post page
-
Just started creating blog in WordPress. Using Cathedral theme. Header had Home and About buttons. Now, having created an About page, the About button has disappeared from Header, so no way of navigating back from main post to About. Any ideas?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You are using Twenty Ten theme. How to figure? Go to the footer of your blog( scroll to the very end of the page) and you will see to the right: The Twenty Ten Theme.
It seems you haven;t added your About page to the menu. Please go to Dashboard > Appearance > Menus > Click on your About page and click Add to Menu.
Please feel free to ask if you have more questions.

Thanks for getting back so rapidly.
Having gone into Menus I discover I have 2 About pages and now, having followed your instructions i have 3! I cannot see how to delete them (there is an ‘Add to menu’, but no obvious delete mechanism). Then I go into View All and find I have 2 menus, Home; About and About, so somehow I have created the second About as an additional menu to the one that came with the template.
All I want is my About page to attach to an About button. Can you unravel this somehow? -
Seems you have created two About pages. Please head to Dashboard > Pages > All Pages and get rid of unwanted page. Then go to Appearance > Menus again.
(My next response will be after ~20 hrs unless some other friendly community member did not notice you). It’s quite late in the night here :-)

I had one About page, but I’ve discovered my problem lay in the Menus tab. I had to find ‘Menu location’, then ‘Primary location’ for the About page. Once that was ticked, the About button appeared in the Header of every post, which is what I wanted.
Thanks again for your help, and hope this exchange helps other newbies fighting through the early confusion of setting up a blog. -
