  WordPress has informed me that CT billing will begin on April 4, 2023. If you have a CT number, you will be asked to fill it in. What is this CT number? Is it a taxpayer number? In Japan, there is ‘My-number’, which is a number associated with taxation. It’s like a national uniform number system. Equivalent to this?

  Hi there!

  CT is the Consumption Tax in Japan. You will need to pay this tax if you are not registered for sales tax starting on April 4, 2023, for any new purchases and renewals. You only become exempt from paying sales tax when you register for sales tax as a business, which is what the CT number would be.
