About Followers and Why They Can Find All My Blogs

    This may sound like a strange wish.

    I have a few blogs and most of them, I hope that whoever finds them and wants to follow them – all the better. Some of those followers are people I know personally.

    I want to start another blog, not make it private, but I want to write on it anonymously without the followers of my other blogs that I know personally, finding it.

    I know this could happen because I have a follower for one of my blogs suddenly following all of my other blogs. I checked this by logging out (and using a different computer) and checking what is available to find other blogs of mine and I cannot figure it out.

    Is it possible to manage this in any way?

    Thanks for your help.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Use a completely separate account. Create teh blog from that separate account. Do not blogroll your other blogs on that blog. Then it should be pretty impossible for anyone to trace you from one to the other.

    @lindemulder,
    Did you add links to your websites to your WordPress public profile page, or to a Gravatar profile profile page?

    You don’t need to ask that question of lindemulder because you can find the answer yourself. :) See here http://en.gravatar.com/lindemulder

    raincoaster gave you good advice. Log out of WordPress.com and clear your browser cache and cookies. Then without logging in and by song a completely different email address register a new username account and register the blog under it. Thereafter be very cautious about not providing any crossover clues to visitors about that new blog that links it to your existing blog(s) and this username account. Granted logging in and out can be irritating, but one way to cope with that is to use a different browser for the two different username accounts.

    Sorry to get back to your help so late, but thank you for your suggestions. I will implement that strategy. I had been fairly careful about not using cross references between some of the blogs – and I also thought that my id and profile were free of any links to blogs etc. but obviously I missed something.

    You’re welcome and best wishes for a happy ending.

    So, the result is that this has worked out great. Of course, I could sign in with my other username to post this update, but then the two id’s would be connected wouldn’t they?

    Thanks again.

    That’s right! You’ve got this.

    What if invite myself ( using another email address ) to be an Editor and create a second blog under the original account. Then the 2 blogs would be by separate usernames but under the same account?
