About function "blockquote" on editing mode
-
Hi experts,
Although the paragraph sentences using this function “blockquote” usually look like very nice on editing mode of my post. Please taking a look at this picture as follows,
https://screenshots.firefox.com/ydZYbGbnT0BUlkfF/wordpress.com
As you know, if on browsing or viewing mode of my post, it has actually shown this style as follows,

By the way, those two horizontal lines in that two pictures above is what I add before and after the paragraph because I didn’t think of any other method – body paragraph may be difficult to distinguish from blockquote paragraph.
Does everyone have more better ideas? Thank you very much.
Best Regards

Hi Quanwen,
Can you send me a link to the post in your screenshot? I tried searching based on the text but wasn’t able to find it :)
It sounds like you are referring to the difference between the blockquote appearance in the editor and the post itself, are you looking for advice on styling this element?
Just let me know and we can go from there.

Hello gemmacevans,
Yep, this is my post link here, https://quanwenzhao.wordpress.com/2018/05/15/some-approach-about-saving-the-value-of-minsample_time-or-maxsample_time-from-ash-to-a-variable/
You can find a large amount of quoting paragraph with red color font and horizontal line before and after this paragraph.
Best Regards

Hi gemmacevans,
My mean is that whether it can make my quoting paragraph’s background be same as my post on editing mode’s style or any other good ideas (at least I needn’t add those two horizontal separating line).
Best Regards

Hi there,
The way blockquoted text displays on the published post is determined by your theme. The editor does not load your theme’s code, so the editor won’t display it exactly the same way your site does and there’s no way to make it do that.
To display your blockquotes on the site the way it shows in the editor, with the background and without the lines, you’ll need to override your theme’s CSS with custom CSS, and that requires the Premium or Business Plan.
