About Grit TV Video…
-
Hello! Well, I’m wondering what the problem is here. I did a post that embedded a Grit TV video that played fine when I checked it. Later, I noticed that it wouldn’t play. When I click on it I get a message saying something like “Whoops! There’s an error. Maybe it’s been deleted.” I certainly have no clue. I’d just like to know.
Here’s the embedding code:
<embed src=”http://blip.tv/play/gdElgqndAAI” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” width=”480″ height=”345″ allowscriptaccess=”always” allowfullscreen=”true”></embed>More GRITtv
I know that not all video is embeddable in WordPress.com. That’s fine. But this initially played okay. And seeing how WP has been experiencing problems lately, I thought I’d check with you good people before abandoning my effort to embed Grit TV video in my posts. For the record, This is the first time I’ve used Grit TV video in my WP blog.
Thanks in advance.

The video you refer to is in this post > Philanthro-Feudalism From Grit TV and I can view it using Firefox 3.6.15. As you cannot see it you could have a browser issue or a Flash issue
Browser Issue- You could have a browser issue so try changing your browser settings, refreshing the page, or clearing the browser cache and cookies – instructions for specific browsers.
- Note that when you make adjustments to your browser settings — changing privacy settings, deleting cookies or increasing security — you will need to close your window and restart the browser before those new settings become effective.
- You could try upgrading your browser.
- You could try using another browser.
Flash issue
- You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date.
- If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of flash.

Hmm. Well, I don’t doubt that it’s something on my end. I think you’re saying you visited my blog and the video plays fine. That’s good. I won’t worry too much about it. I really need a new pc. I’m not tech savvy and can’t deal with the glitches and bugs I’m accumulating. I have funny things happening with my pc. It runs. But all is not well.
I’ve got the latest flash, the latest Mozilla and I wouldn’t know what settings in my browser to look at to change. Although I will fire up my IE and see whether the video plays in that just out of curiosity. Actually, I’m thinking of switching to Chrome. I read some good things about it. Forget what those were of course. We’ll see.

Well that’s interesting. IE played the video fine. I hate IE! Also, I regularly ran Ccleaner, so I dumped a lot of stuff regularly. I think I dumped most cookies, but maybe there’s one of those little buggers still there causing me trouble. I have no way of knowing. Too busy to look at it too closely right now. But it’s looking like I either need a future version of Firefox or to use some other browser for now. Later…
