About mapping or transfering domains

  Hello!
  I have a domain that I purchased with GoDaddy. I could try to transfer it to WordPress, so that I can avoid extra yearly fees. however, will I lose the domain and protection security plan that I also purchased?
  I am not very ‘techy’, so I would also like to know which option (mapping or transfering) might be easier for me to do.

  Hi Anabelle, I’m not sure exactly what you purchased from GoDaddy, but here’s what your domain includes with us:
  https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-registrations-and-privacy/#privacy-protection

  Your plan with us would include this security:
  https://wordpress.com/support/security/

  Does that help? I do believe to transfer the domain, you would need to disable privacy there, briefly. If you’re worried, you’re welcome to point it to our servers instead for now, using Mapping:
  http://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/
