Are you asking about how to set up a static front page? If so this page provides a great way of doing so:

I am looking for something similar, I believe.
I want my front page to have an ‘about me’ section at the top right, but inserting a Right Widget doesn’t seem to do it.
I want to be able to have a picture and a little bio without having a static page or having someone to click on a separate page for this.

I’m certain timethief wasn’t trying to be rude and that wasn’t the tone I got from it. Text is not an easy way to convey tone, so please remember that. I often forget that too.
